HELP!!! Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker. Which cake mix do you guys prefer AND why???? I'm trying to find a good cake mix.
Thanks!
DC, BC and PB all have fans.
BC and PB have pudding mix already added, while DH doesn't contain pudding mix.
I prefer DH because it doesn't contain pudding mix, but that's just a personal preference.
HTH
Bottom line is its all personal preference. As I tell my kids, "something is only 'the best' in one's opinion." Some say Jif peanut butter is "the best". Others swear Peter Pan is "the best". Neither are wrong. Its just personal preference.
My personal preference was set decades ago when I realized that Duncan HInes was a lighter, fluffier, "bouncier" cake......and when I'm flipping a 14" cake onto another 14" cake, I don't want light and bouncy ... I wanted firm and solid!!!
I'm a Betty Crocker gal all the way.
I like DH better, and inmy experience it was easier the stack/carve then bc which is really soft
I have tried them all and Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe white cake mix is the favorite of mine and everyone I make cakes for. If you actually time your mixing to the minutes the box says, you can see the batter getting fluffier. I like to catch it on sale, and it is just a delicious mix for a very inexpensive price!

me to i usually just use it for cake balls or when i dont have time for scratch but I stocked up when I found it for 0.66 and then again a month later at 0.90 but I am out again lmao my mom and aunt who saw the cart fulls I bought cannot believe it!
Not only is it personal opinion, but its also will you be adding stuff to it for a modified box mix?
I personally LOVE DH, and i add a box of pudding and an egg so it's firmer than just the box mix. But i don't use just a box mix. I do use BC for flavors that DH doesn't make, i've tried pillsbury, but from a cost perspective i pay more b/c it makes less per box.
