It's costing me a fortune! I've just spent another load on E bay! I've bought some cool tips to ice grass or hair and a three spot tip which will save me tons of time...and a ball tool and some cutters. I'll be bankrupt at this rate! I just keep looking throught the gallery then looking at how to get a certain effect...before you know, I've shopped again!

You read my mind! I'm thinking about ordering more cutters since being on the website for only 30 minutes this afternoon. ha ha!! Right now this is just a fun hobby for me, but I want to try everything and buy everything. ha! icon_lol.gif

there are just so many facets to this hobby. I don't know what to try next! I tried out the royal icing frames last week. Think I'm going to do some different recipe cupcakes this week. icon_smile.gif
what's your next mission?

I'm taking another fondant class this weekend from an awesome cake store here in Nashville. Would like some more practice with fondant. I just ordered some "Batter Babies" to make two cake flavors in one cupcake. This will probably be next. How about you? Your cakes look great! icon_smile.gif

Thank you! Well, I just did a little 6 week course before christmas learning royal icing, mainly with a few hints and tips about fondant too and I did a one off wired flowers lesson too. I think the same lady is starting another course in the next few weeks, learning piped and fondant flowers. That's something I think will come in really handy. I love making the roses I learnt with her, can't wait to try my hand at more!

Just a thought, instead of spending lots of money on courses why not check out youtube, you can find tutorials on most things there and its FREE

Hi jane, yeah thanks I've been learning lots from there, I am considering not taking the course but the lady is really good. She's one of only a few Wilton instructors in this country (apparently!) I found her so good before, she does £25 for a 2 hour lesson, buy 5 get the 6th free. Thought that was pretty good for outer London, still more than YouTube though, I guess!

LOL. that's why there is a warning on the site letting everyone who comes here that this site is Addictive and they were'nt lying it is absolutely addictive. Trust me you will never stop shopping for gadgets that will make you cake creations look/taste its best. The one and only way to stop is to go cold turkey. LOL. Just kidding even that won't work.

i know the feeling!!

I start by looking for something specific on the web and go off on a tangent and buy more than i intend!

I have signed up today for a sugarpaste course at a local college, I have to say local courses in the UK are quite difficult to come by unless i am just looking in the wrong places..... well perhaps they are just difficult around milton keynes!

time to control my spending....eeeek

I'm having the same problem. I keep seeing cakes that I'd love to try and recreate and then realise that I need all these things that I don't have. And, as I'm a stay at home mum, it's not even my hard earned cash that I'm spending, but my partner's! I just can't help myself icon_lol.gif
