I purchased a 1 1/2" piece of PVC pipe from my local home improvement store and it is the best rolling pin I have found so far. I use it mainly for fondant and it rolls out everything so smooth and easy.

The best part is, it cost a whole $2.50! icon_biggrin.gif

Great idea! I was thinking of one with handles - these muscles are not what they use to be LOL.

I purchased the marble one from Jennifer Dontz and it was one of the best purchases I have made.

I use several different rolling pins for different applications.
If I'm covering a cake in fondant, I roll out the fondant with my jumbo rolling pin,
then I use a piece of lightweight PVC pipe to help with covering the cake... roll the fondant onto the PVC, roll it out over the cake!!
I have a small rolling pin that I bought from walmart that I use for smaller work, gumpaste or small fondant pieces!

I have a couple of Sil-pins. They're great. I bought the regular style with handles first, and later on I bought the long tapered one. Nothing sticks to them.

I got one and HATE it. When you wash it you can't dry it because it collects lint... I have to use a paper towel and very carefully pat it dry. If there's any spec of dust in the air, the pin will grab it (then deposit it on the fondant).

I ended up buying a plain wood rolling pin and love it.

I decided on the marble rolling pin, love it! The weight aids in the speed of rolling the fondant. I was using a wood pin, but I swear I have less air bubbles with the marble. icon_smile.gif
