I believe that is hand piped. However, you could try to find some Alencon lace fabric, make molds from it and pipe the netting part. Here is an example of a very popular bridal lace we use to make molds in our shop. I am friendly with a bridal alterations shop and they have given me tons of remnants to make molds with.

You can find directions on how to make lace molds on cc, I am sure. I have used make your own molds . c o m with lots of success.
Hi Vita there is a video in the Ron Israel site were he shows a technic
using a Pasta machine he roll the gumpaste paper thin & with a piece of
lace pass it thru the machine leaving the impresion on the gumpaste
and to give it dimension he used royal icing and pipe all the edges once
glue to the cake. I hope this may help u. Chelly
Thanks Chelly. That's another great idea. Unfortunately I'm not that good with piping, I'll try to make a mold first.
