Does anyone else have this problem?? I don't have a caddy for all my cake stuff (which my be my first problem) and I need to put all my little icing color jars into a empty coolwhip container...they always seem to leak on me.
If they don't leak into the cool whip container than there always seems to be a little bit on the outside of the jar that gets all over the place when I go to use it.
Argh!!!

It only seems to happen to me on certain colors. It drives me nuts. I pick up a jar and all of a sudden I have blue fingers. I will have to try the saran wrap idea.

I will be trying that idea as well, you can always tell what color I am working with just by looking at my fingers from the jars!!

I keep my icing colors in an egg carton. That way each as it's on little place and the icing does not leak onto everything else.

That was one of the reasons why i switched to americolor gel colors. I don't seem to have a problem with them leaking. Plus you don't have to stick a toothpick in the colors, like you do with the wilton colors.

Where can you get the Americolor gel colors? And do they color better than wilton? What i mean is do you use more or less of the Americolor than wilton on the hard colors like red black and brown? Thanks for any help!

I was told not to open the Wilton jars all the way and tp place a square of waxed paper on top before screwing the lit on (Like the Saran wrap).

I had the same problem, what I do now is leave the cover on and punch a small whole on the top...seems to work.

Wow, I've been away from my computer all day and haven't had a chance to check my post...I had no idea everyone would have the same problem. Seems like that Police song "message in a bottle".
Gin, I'm so glad you posted that store you go to. I live in Basking Ridge and have a store in Somerville that I normally go to but it would be nice to have an option. Do you know if they sell cake boxes?

I haven't yet had problems with my Wilton colors leaking, but I've tried the red & black in the AmeriColor, so as I need new colors or have to replace old ones, I'll be sticking with the Americolor. I love the squeeze top. I feel like I'm killing tons of tiny trees with all the toothpicks I use with the Wilton colors.

Ok I do have a good suggestion for not having the caddy. I went to walmart and bought a cheap tackle box used for fishing. It works great for me. I spent $10 on it. It is the same size at the wilton's and I think I have more room in it. Thought you might want to check out that Idea.
