How can I colour my fondant a deep, dark midnight blue? I'm talking about so blue it's nearing black so I can use it for a night sky. I tried adding black fondant to blue, but it didn't work for me.

Has anyone had any luck making midnight blue?

I got a nice dark navy blue using violet and sky blue... maybe the combo of royal, violet and black might get you closer. HTH.

I got a really nice dark blue fondant in my last cake by using Navy Blue Americolor gel and then added a touch of black here and there until I got the desired color.

I use what chunkeemonkee says. Royal blue, violet, and bit of black. Let it set a couple of hours - it will darken as it sets.
