My son is wanting an Iron Man sheet cake and wants me to put the Iron Man mask on it. My problem is I don't know what else to put on the cake (background, decorations, etc). Does anyone have any good ideas?

Edible image, fbct. Once I did a spiderman cake and couldn't get an edible image in time so I bought a mask (the paper one you'd find in the themed party decoration aisle) removed the staples and rubberband and laminated it. Cut out the shape; on a thin layer of fondant I brushed piping gel on and placed the picture on the fondant and cut out with an exacto knife. Then I decorated the cake in a spiderman theme (colors, web).

Ok...thanks for the idea!! I was gonna try the 3D Ironman but I'm afraid to attempt the red icing. I've only decorated 2 cakes and I've read alot about how hard it is to make red and if you do accomplish it, well then it's bitter. Thanks again!

I just did an 8 inch round Iron Man cake. I did a FBCT of the Iron Man face on the top. For the bottom border I used a leaf tip and mixed red and yellow buttercream frosting in the bag to make flames. I didn't have room for flames on the top border so I just used the same red/yellow mixture to pipe a bead border. It was really easy and quick. Here's a link to my pics of the cake:

To me the red in iron man is not the red that we know it to be.
