What did you add to make it black? Straight gel color? I find that MMF gets a little dry when adding a lot of gel color so I always add about 1/4 tspn of light corn syrup to it - Helps keep it pliable. It may help but also depends on how dry yours is.

Try it with a little ball of MMF and see what happens. It'll be a sticky mess at 1st but keep kneading it until completely incorporated.

Don't use too much corn syrup or else the MMF gets really stretchy...very pliable icon_smile.gif

Also, dark colors get darker over 2-3 days so you don't have to color it straight black at 1st. Same thing with royal icing. I usually makes these at least a day ahead & let it sit overnight to intensify.

you didnt use liquid black food coloring did you? That will act that way if you do. Try putting it in the microwave for 10 seconds until it softens and you can knead it....put a bit of shortening on your hands and knead it.
