Gosh, I haven't been on in such a loooonnnggg time. But I had a Q. And I already know, that this Q has been asked many many times over.
But, I'm going to be one of those many times ask person here...
I have a cake project to do for a friend. They just told me it's going to feed 50 people.
What size cake would you all recommend? 2 - 10" cakes?
I have the theme that was given to me, so for these theme, I am thinking "round" cake.......
All help is sincerely most appreciated!
Two 10 inch rounds (each one being either 3 or 4 inches high) will give you about 28 servings each according to the wilton part servings chart (56 servings total)
One 6 inch + one 12 inch will give you 52 based on this same chart
One 8 inch and one 10 inch will give you 48 servings
A 14 inch round will give you 63 servings
At first I was reallllly skeptical of the wilton's charts, and modified it based on how I cut. Then I came across Indydebi's method of cutting - got about the same amount, and in some cases a little more 
....so now that is the method I recommend to all of my customers so that they get ample servings.
