So, we threw my co-worker a diapers and wipes baby shower on Wednesday. I spent 2 days lovingly preparing animal FBCT's for the cake to match the invitations. By 9:00 the night before, I was ready to place the transfers on the cake and make the final touches. Plopped them on the cake and - STUCK! Two came off fine, but the other two wouldn't come off the wax paper!

I don't know what I did wrong. I used medium consistency Wilton recipe icing. They were in the freezer ample time but the two that stuck were still floppy.

Cue the tears. I had no idea what to do. I kept saying, "I'm going to look like a fool tomorrow." After a hot bath to calm myself, I turned to CC. I found a onesie template and a fondant recipe and went to work. My DH even chipped in to help (I guess it was the tears)! After a few more hours of work, voila!

Mommy and daddy were so pleased with the cake! Thank you, CC members, for being so knowledgeable and willing to share your tips and advice. Without you guys, I would still be in the bathtub crying. icon_smile.gif

I've had a couple that were made with dark colors of icing not want to peel off. Never fun.

I did one a few weekends ago, the FBCT was on the side of the cake, and I ended up having to empty a shelf in the freezer to stick the whole cake in because I did not have time to redo the transfer. Thankfully after it all was in the freezer I was able to peel the wax paper away with out any real damage.

It happens some times. Kudos to you for rolling with the punches and finding plan b.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the support. I will definitely try the FBCT again (hopefully with better results). icon_biggrin.gif
