(I'm sure this on CC somewhere but I couldn't find it. Pardon any duplication.)
I've recently started to sell cupcakes, among other things, and I have quite a few orders. My dilemma is how to get them to the customers. I usually cart them around to events, etc. in Gladware, etc. but that stuff is expensive so I don't want to give it away and I think it's not what I"d want to receive from a baker.
For my order batch of orders I bought adorable cupcake boxes with inserts from our local party store but at $3.49 each (holds 1 dozen) they're not a long term solution. I debated trying to put them in a 1/4 sheet cake box but didn't want to risk it tonight with so many to deliver tomorrow.
Do you all use special boxes? If so, is there somewhere more affordable to order them? How otherwise do you deliver 1-dozen cupcakes at a time?
I use a clear plastic box that houses 12 cuppies. You can get them from.... the bakers kitchen . net... take the spaces out and search clear cupcake and it will pull them up. HTH!
This thread shows an inexpensive and easy way to transport cupcakes. HTH...

For large orders I collect and use the boxes that Strawberries and peppers or tomatoes come in. You can usually get them from Costco. Then I line them with a big sheet of parchment. They are great for transporting as well because you can stack them together and they don't hit the cupcakes below. I was able to deliver 500 cupcakes last week in one trip.
Have fun!
look at wesellcoffee.com they sell actual cupcake containers for super cheap! thats where i buy mine
I order boxes from BRP box, you can google it to find. They carry cupcake inserts that fit into 1/4 sheet boxes and they are fairly inexpensive, it amounts to somewhere around 75.00 dollars for 100 plain 1/4 sheet boxes and 100 12-ct cupcake holders. Their prices include shipping - which is a big deal considering how heavy and bulky paper products can be. HTH
I also get my boxes and inserts at BRP. Although you have to buy a lot at once, they are less expensive per item, Plus your cupcakes alway arrive in perfect condition and you can stack them. Worth the investment.
i also get my containers from wesellcoffee great prices, packaged well, boxes and plastic containers although i will have to say the plastic work the best for me. all diff sizes and i got a lot of them for like 30$and there is no min order!
I recently purchased some plastic cupcake containers from Plastic Container City.
here's the link: http://www.plasticcontainercity.com/Cupcake-Containers-Muffins.htm
They are really reasonable compared to the cupcake boxes. A 6 cavity cupcake container with deep lid costs $0.48 each. A 12 cavity container with a deep lid $1.02 each. In this case your best bet would be to order the 6 cavity containers because 2 of them would only cost $0.96.
They also have single cupcake containers and even mini cupcake containers.

I was just on there website the last few days and see that they are now selling in lower qty's!!!! so you don't have to order 100 of each item at a time. It is a little more expensive per box (obviously they have more labor now) but is still an awesome price!! And if you dont' need 100 of everything its perfect.
