Hi! Does anyone know how to make a fondant soccer ball for the top of a cupcake? I am in need of a round one, not a flat one. I plan to frost the cupcake with the grass tip and sit the soccer ball in the grass. Didn't see what I needed using the search feature.

Thanks! Maria

This is a tough one because your balls will be quite small (that is not meant to sound like it sounds icon_biggrin.gif ). I think I would try and make a round ball, and put it on a toothpick so you don't squish it around. Then I would emboss straight lines on it - but bear in mind a soccer ball is made up of pentagons and hexagons. You need to study a good picture of one to see the exact pattern. Then when it has dried a bit, paint the black pentagons with colouring or an edible ink pen. Take it off the pick before putting on the cupcake. It's not going to be easy. Maybe you could do a half sphere, with the flat side on the grass - may be easier that way because at least you could work on it on a flat surface.

What Dayti said.

White sections are hexagons, black ones are pentagons. I hope you only need one!
