been sent one criticizing their cakes before?

I got one this morning telling me ("she/he" would be so embarassed to have my cake at their function. It is the ugliest cake ever. I should go into another line of work.)

I have no idea why this person has decided to pick me to be their target.

Hubby says ignore them and move on. He says sounds like a hormone rageing lunitic to him.

Its the red/white cake I posted yesterday.

CNCS...You have to understand that there are people in this world that thrive on negativity and trying to hurt everyone around them. They must really have a terrible life. Your cakes are very pretty. Don't let the stupidity of one person discourage you from doing something that you obviously love doing.

CNCS ~ Ignore that email. I think your cakes are beautiful. Some people simply have too much time on their hands. If someone is "bad" enough to send a message like that, then they should be bad enough to put their name so the person can respond. You know what, on second thought it's just not worth the time and effort!!!

What! Ignore it.

You have no idea where it came from. For all you know it is a troll that just wants to get their rocks off with something like this.

An anonymous emailer is never worth wasting one second of your time. It is one person in the billions who live on this planet. Do not let someone you never interect with take your mojo.

I did get a similar email last summer - not from a customer, from a guest at a wedding where I did the cake. It's upsetting.

As long as the customer was happy I wouldn't worry about it.
Now, I have gone to weddings where I did not do the cake and was shocked when I heard what some people will charge for a cake that I don't feel is well done.
That said I have never called or emailed the person telling them how I felt about the cake.
Years ago I did a cake for a bride but she had a relation who was a pastry chef and he did the grooms cake. The frosting was not smooth and I hoped people at the wedding did not think the same person did both cakes.

Hi CNCS- Sorry that someone did that to you. I looked at your cakes and saw nothing there that would deserve a nasty review. Your cakes are very pretty and it's obvious that you put a great deal of care in your work.

Someone is either being petty and mean or they are a bored troll like others have suggested. Don't let them bother you. People who talk trash thrive on making others feel bad. What a way to go through life- tearing people down.

You, on the other hand, are making lovely cakes for others to enjoy. Keep your chin up and enjoy making your cakes. icon_biggrin.gif

We can accept construction criticizum....but down right nasty remarks......NO. I think only a person who needs to boost their ego would post something like that. I thnk these reality shows are allowing and showing people how to act rude and nasty.

Sorry this happened to you...you by no means deserve a remark like that. Keep up the good work and enjoy decorating. .

Don't give it a second thought!!

Actually when I read your post, my first thought was that it was another baker who is obviously scared to compete with your work and is trying to psyche you out!!

Keep it up!! icon_biggrin.gif

It is upsetting to get such an email, but like everyone says, ignore it. To answer it would be giving them the power.

I got an email a few weeks ago (and I'm sorry to say all evidence points to a CC'er) who was brave enough to email but too chicken to give their name, insulting everything but the color of my eyes. Yes, they even commented on how fat and old I was! icon_lol.gif Have to tell you, hubby and I laughed all day ... I called my daughter and my sister and read it to them so they could get a big guff out of it with me. Daughter said, "Mom, you have arrived! You know what they say .... If you're not ticking someone off, then you're not doing your job right!" icon_lol.gif

Some people get their kicks in weird ways.
