Baking By cupcakegirl22 Updated 18 Nov 2013 , 2:51pm by vanillamom
Hi Everyone,
I'm searching for a oreo filling for a white cake,it will also be covered in fondant and stacked (2 Tier) anyhow would love some ideas for a oreo recipe or even a different favor for using with white cake its for a child Bparty. Please help.
Thanks
For an oreo or cookies & cream filling I use one box of oreo flavored instant pudding and add a little water to make a paste. I then add about one cup of Indydebbi's buttercream to the mix then add crushed oreos. Everyone loves it!
I have just used my regular buttercream and mixed in crushed oreos.
Me too...and sometimes I add a tablespoon or so of milk because the cookies soak up moisture in the frosting. I love crushed oreos mixed in cream cheese frosting...Mmmm!
I put crushed oreos into bettercreme. It makes for a lighter filling, more of a mousse and less sweet. NUMMY!!!!!
I just made some this weekend. I took the buttercream recipe by SugarShack (Sharon Zambito) and added some heavy whipping cream (not a lot but enough to achieve the consistency I wanted) and chopped Oreos. Everyone LOVED it!
Thanks everyone,I'm heading to the store for some cookies and I'm going to try a couple of these cause tonight is baking night so I will let you know how I make out.
also as anyone tried Wiltons whipped icing?
Richs bettercream isn't sold here.
Thanks soooooooooo much for your help
I've used this recipe and found it yummy. It is pretty stiff (so not likely to run out as as filling) and doesn't need refrigeration. It is VERY sweet. So if you're one of those cakers who shies away from the very sweet, I'd try something else. But me, I liked it!

Wilton's whipped icing is okay. Some people will probably like it. It has a slight artificial flavor to it, but it's not too bad.
I also just mix in crushed Oreo's to vanilla buttercream, but I try not to mix too much or it just goes grey-brown.
I use the cooked icing:
5 Tbsp. Sugar
1 Cup Milk
Mix well and cook over medium heat until thick (very thick). Cover with plastic wrap (place it down touching the rouge) until cooled (I refrigerate).
When cool, mix together:
1 cup crisco
1 cup granulated sugar (NOT powdered sugar).
Beat on high for 5 minutes. Then add thickener. Beat another 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
Fold in crushed oreo cookies (I pulverize finely in food processor). It doesn't take much to make it very oreo flavored (about 10 cookies or so).

Is that supposed to be 5 T. of flour cooked with the milk????
I have an excellent, simple recipee for oreo cookies & cream + creamcheese frosting that is truly yummy:
1 pkg. (250 g) Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping Filling
12 Oreo Cookies, coarsely crushed
BEAT cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping and crushed cookies.
This recipee will yield 1 (very) thick layer or filling for a 9 inch round cake. If you put it in between two layers of chocolate cake and top it with a chocolate glaze, the effect looks like one giant oreo cookie. For a different look, you could probably stretch it to 2 layers of filling if you applied each layer thinner.
Yes, 5 Tbsp. flour (all purpose) so sorry! My fingers type what my brain is thinking about!!

Thanks everybody for your recipes and advice.I did try the wilton and DeeDelightful your right it does have a odd taste to it I would not use it again.
Missymaam i'm going to check out sugarshack buttercream recipe and next time do what everyone else seem's to do and add the cookies to the buttercream.
I do like the recipe for cooked one it not as sweet I bet maybe need to try that one to. Anyhow I guess i'm gonna have to try them all
AUse your favourite cream cheese frosting and add crushed oreo in the end and fold it. Oreo goes better with cream cheese frosting than other buttercreams
