How do I apply a satin ribbon to buttercream layer at the bottom without the ribbon getting greasy?

I always line mine with sometype of tape. I have used masking tape and scotch tape. Both work well. Takes time to line it, but worth it not getting the grease spots!

you can also use waterproof ribbon you can get a floral supply place if there is one close to you or you can make a fondant ribbon to put on the bottom! Good luck!!
