Hi ladies

Wow such a full on forum! there are sooo many questions and i think i will find most of my answers here icon_smile.gif and everyone seems sooo nice icon_smile.gif

Anyways, this is my first post so pls be gentle *blush*

I have purchased cake boss.... i do not run a business as such but i do get the occassional order from friends and family and ppl they know... so more of a hobby to which i must charge for my time and ingredients.

I consider myself as a beginner even though i have covered a few cakes before and done some figurines.

I would like to know how long it takes to bake the following

6x3" W/Choc mud cake round
10x3" D/Choc mud cake round

and how long would it take to layer, buttercream the layers and cover in fondant?

I've put an approximate 5 and a half hours....

Does this sound right to you? or should this be a lot quicker?

I know that the 10" is going to bake for 2.30 hours

I take longer to ganache the cake say around 30 min then what i do to cover in fondant icon_wink.gif

There are no decorations to go... so its just a two tier cake and no more.

So basically i'm wondering if 5 and half hours is too long to do?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank-you icon_smile.gif

i bake in 3in pans too and my cakes usually take me about 5 to 6 hours to fully decorate in my home kitchen. Like you i only make cakes for friends family etc i use ganache when covering with fondant. hth icon_smile.gif
