Was hoping someone would share thier yellow cake recipe with me. I have made a few yellow cakes from scratch and although they are always very moist they crumble very easily too. I wanted something that would be moist and dense so I could carve it.

Thanks!

Hi! I can recommend Dawns Vanilla butternut recipe. Its listed on here but I'll add the link.
Very moist and delicious and holds up well to stacking/carving.

I agree with eve. Dawn's Cake is very delicious. I haven't found the butternut extract either, but I have used vanilla, and creme brulee coffee creamer. Yum. I made a huge cross cake for my grandson's christening using this recipe, and I filled it with Nutella mousse. Again, YUM thumbs_up.gif

For carving pound cake is great, or maderia sponge. For regular cakes, victoria sponge or maderia.
But the kind of knife u use is important too, it needs to be razor sharp, probably non serrated.
