I need to make realistic looking grape vines that will be winding upwards on a wedding cake. They need to be able to support bunches of gumpaste grapes and sturdy enough not to set directly on the cake as the tiers will be floating (center poll) so that there will be several inches of space between the tiers. Does that make sense? I hope so. I thought about making the grape vines out of wire and covering them with molding chocolate. Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to make these.
