I am in need of some help as soon as possible. I'm supposed to make a birthday cake for my mom but i seem to be out of some very basic ingredients. Wish I could run to the store but I can't drive right now. I need to make a cake without butter or cake flour. I was leaning toward a peanut butter cake but the recipes I found weren't very inspiring. Truly though, I don't really have a preference to the kind, but I do have some great chocolate frosting and I can make a custard (either vanilla or chocolate) for the filling. Any help or ideas would be appreciated as I've already spent quite a while searching for a recipe. Thanks.

My first thought was...make a pie!

You can use regular flour for many scratch recipes. There is a sustitution chart somewhere for cake flour to flour...google it. Oil works for butter. Good luck!
