So now that I know I can legally sell without a license and all that UN-fun I need some help coming up with a name. I had been planning on "With Love and Confection" but I googled that today and there are already 2 sites with the same name icon_sad.gif So now Im blank! I so loved that name. Im pretty much sticking to cakes and cupcakes. And maybe cheesecakes and things like that around the holidays. Any ideas?

Could you somehow take the "With Love and Confection" and use the same concept but just change the words a little bit? I am trying to rack my brain and think what you could use that would still be cute and clever. Maybe .. "Just for you, With Love and Confection."

You can still use "With Love and Confection" as long as there are no trademarks for that name and the other businesses with that name are nowhere near your area.

JasonKrafts, I've thought about that. One is in NH and one is in SC. Definitely nowhere near me. I am in MO. I tried doing a search to see if either of them had it trademarked and didnt find anything. And as far as a domain name I can still get a .org.

Hey Jessie! I'm in Mo too...where are you? I have Sweet Moments Cakery and there is another one in washington state. I can't really remember but I think I found it when I was searching the sec of state website to register mine. I didn't really see it as a problem since they are so far away and it hasn't been as far as I know. I think you should go for it! That's a super cute name! thumbs_up.gif I do really like confectionately yours too!!

Love Confections?

But I just searched and someone named Chef Norman Love is using that. I think you can use a name as long as they're not in your state?

Please someone correct me if I am wrong....I believe ".org" is for non-profits. ????

Can you can the "s" to a "z" and make it your our name? I do agree though as all as it is not in your state or even remotely near by I think you will be OK. My understanding is when you do the fictitious filing it is does within your county so as long as no one in your county has the name you should be good. However the website thing could be an issue....Good luck in your decision! I like the name I think you should look at a way to tweak it and make it your own!

Two marketing points... the public remembers the simplest name easier, and lots of those names sound the same, especially when someone is trying to remember you and find you. Look on the internet for cakers in your area and make sure your name doesn't get "lost".

Most non-profits use .org, but actually anyone can purchase an .org domain.
