Good or bad idea? I know we have all come to the conclusion that we can freeze unfrosted cupcakes (yippy) but can we freeze cupcakes that already have buttercream or frosting on it?

just for my family to eat, I've frozen leftovers after frosting and they taste great. Buttercream Frosting freezes well. In my crowded freezer they are likely to get squished so I wouldn't want to freeze them after decorating if I were actually serving them at a party.

We freeze cupcakes that are both frosted and unfrosted, but we put them in a plastic clamshell container first and wrap the container with plastic wrap to make sure it's airtight. They can last 2-3 months without drying out.

BC freezes very well, just don't freeze fondant. I thaw mine uncovered so condensation doesn't ruin the icing. FYI--don't put edible glitter or sprinkles on them before freezing. When they thaw, the glitter makes any colors look like your cupcakes were splattered. Been there.
