I know I can make little balls out of the gompaste but what do i use as the wire?

In the close up picutre it looks like they glued each bead in place instead of threading them. If you wanted to string them I would make white and silver beads and string them tightly together with maybe a quilting thread to hold the weight. Make sure you string them tightly together so that you don't see the thread. Hope that makes sense.

I don't see a wire on these either, but I do have old bad eyes. I would bet they just placed each bead on the cake, separated by a silver dragee, very close together to give the apprearance of being strung. If you want to string, you could also use dental floss and string the bead while still soft gumpaste (or fondant) tightly together as mentioned above.

What type of occasion is the rosary beads for? If it is for let's say a child's baptism, you can thread the little gumpaste beads with flossing thread, because the children's rosary beads usually are threaded together with some sort of sewing thread and it would be okay if the thread shows. If it is for an adult occasion, you can still use the flossing thread, just make sure that you thread the gumpaste beads tight to one another so that that thread does not show.

When I made one I made all the beads and put a needle through them to make them like an actual bead. I then let it dry really good. Once dry I used a quilting thread and strung them all together. I also did a search on how to make a rosary to help with the stringing them together. HTH

I love the First Impression mold, that looks so real but if you want a lighter look dental floss or fishing line works too.

I would used real Rosary Beads - so that it can be kept for the child in later years .. ask the parents or godparents ..

The rosary is gorgeous, I can't even begin to imagine how to make one. It seems so difficult.
