Otherwise known as "I almost made a Cake Wreck today!"
Today I learned something new. I learned that when you write the name "Curt" in cursive, that R looks A LOT like an N.
And doesn't look that great on Curt's birthday cake either!
I had an early morning and I didn't even notice what I had written until I went to box up the cake. I looked and thought "No I did not just write the C word on a cake." But it looked like I did. No worries though, I fixed it.
So take my near cake wreck as a lesson to all!
I know. Right after I thought, "Oh Curt, why couldn't your parents have named you Kirt?"
That is the funniest thing I've read all day! Thanks for that thoughtful piece of advice for the rest of us. Poor Curt. What I wonder is...did any of his past birthday cakes see this fate?
That is very funny.
It reminded me of the time I worked at IAPA in Dallas.
I was in charge of creating our worldwide customer directory (airline, hotels, amenities, etc) I had sent a draft to the owner in London. He sent a telex back that SHOULD have said "Your current directory looks great!" But to my dismay it said "Your cu_t directory looks great!"
I was very embarrassed when my supervisor, Tim, asked me to see it. He called the owner who stated that the telex somehow removed the rre out of the message.
Not cake related but sort of related to this discussion.
That was hilarious!! I was laughing and I had to explain to my husband what was so funny.
That's too funny! I guess that falls under the old carpenter's rule, "Measure twice...cut once." A good reminder about how we have to double-check our work!

ROTFL! That is the funniest thing I've ever read here on CC. I'm glad you noticed before the cake went out, though. Thanks for the story!
LOL I once worked with a guy who's name was Mike Hunt if you say that real fast it's a disastrous name too, Sorry to all those named Mike Hunt.....
*LMAO*... I worked on a wedding cake that was to have 6 word written in cursive.... it amusing that my mind automaticaly re-read it as "curse words".... that would have look phenominal on a wedding cake!!!!! Thank god you caught that one!!!!
That just made me laugh out loud! I think i will always remember this story if I ever get that name come up on a cake - noted!
I guess I should be thankfull that my husband spells his name Kurt. A little off topic I had a teacher named Anita Blackman in highschool, say that name fast, even funnier in he same class was an Amanda Service
My husband used to be friends with Richard Sample guess what everyone called him for short.
I went to school with a girl named Shanda Lear.
Good save noticing before the cake was delivered!
Now, that is just the funniest thing I've read in a long, long time. Thanks for sharing!!
