Converting A Recipe For Different Cake Tin Size

Hi,
Can you please help me figure out how to convert a cake recipe that is designed for a 9 inch cake tin and make it in a 11 inch cake tin instead?
Thanks!!
Works for all pans....Wilton has a chart of how many cups of batter each pan holds. Then figure out how many cups of batter your recipe makes. You will have to double or triple your recipe to make enough... just be aware some recipes are not written to do more than double and may need to find one that is written for larger amts.
Generally, scaling 23 cm up to 28 cm [same shape and same depth] needs 1.5 recipe. But. Some recipes don't like being scaled .. depends on the recipe ..
I'm a hobby caker so I always err on the side of sizing "up" if I worry that I won't have enough batter. And once I fill my cake pans about 1/2 - 2/3 full, I make any extra batter into cupcakes. Then I either freeze the undecorated cupcakes for a future time, or I feed them to my family. Good luck!
