I am going to be making WASC for the first time this weekend. I plan on using the Wilton stars and stripes pan, not sure on the dimensions. But I only have 1 pan, and plan on dying some red and blue. what do I do with the extra batter while the cake is cooking and the pan cooks. I only have 1, so I have to do it in cycles. Do I leave the batter out on the counter or put it in the fridge?! i've never had this problem before.. any advise?!

You can do either. I've left mine on the counter in between baking and have used it cold out of the fridge. It does seem to rise less when cold, however.

I've done it both ways, and it didn't seem to make a difference in my cakes.
