Would someone be able to tell me how to make wheat-hay? I need to do this on the side of a Fall wedding cake.
TIA
What are you looking to do? Make a tier look like a hay bale? You should search the photos, lots of cute ideas in there.
Take a look at this cake. This CCer did amazing piping for her hay! Maybe you could PM her and ask how it was done.

The bride wants wheat plants drawn on the sides of the tiers, with icing, behind the silk Fall leaves. This is in place of fancy scroll work. I hope this makes sense.
It sounds like you mean individual stalks of wheat, or small bunches. I think you might take a look at some of the piping tutorials on wilton.com, it seems to me there might be a picture of wheat. The thing that's coming to mind is doing the Lily of the Valley (I think) where you have a long stem or stalk and little flowers that appear to hang from it. For wheat I would try using a small round tip (3 maybe) and making stems or stalks then use a leaf or petal tip to make the seeds.
Thanks, I'll check out Wilton.com. You're discription is exactly what she wants on the cake. Thanks again.
Did you ever find out how to do these wheat stems or plants on the side of a wedding cake? I've got the same request for a fall wedding cake.
Thanks.
