Hi! I need to make my son's birthday cake and I wanted to do cupcakes in addition to the cake. Can I just use the WASC recipe for the cupcakes? Are there any modifications? I have never used that recipe for cupcakes before but for some reason when I use another cake batter recipe for cupcakes, it turns out drier than the cake. Should I modify the recipe or the temp? Thanks!

I only use WASC cake for all my cakes. I like macsmom but I think they are really all the same or close too. if you look for gormet flavors thread you will find many many different flavors

I've used the WASC batter for cupcakes several times. Especially if I have just a little batter left over from filling my cake pans. If I want a more domed top on the cupcake I bake at 350, if I want a less domed effect I bake at 325. icon_smile.gif

I use WASC exclusively now for my cakes and cupcakes with the exception of cakes I make from scratch. My customers love it! They always comment on how moist they are. I have also used the WASC recipe for my pineapple upside down cake as well and I have a repeat customer whose husband loves them and thought she went to NJ to go get one because that is where is from and are used to the bakeries there. Funny thing is that I am from NJ! LOL. But you shouldn't have any worries just don't fill the liners too much or they will spread depending on the flavor profile of the cupcake.
