hi i have read about cakes that use jello in them to make them moist so i believe, my question is they all use cake mix from a box and add the jello what about if you make a cake from scratch say a pound cake and added it it would that work i live in the uk but love jello as a dessert as i have a shop about 30mins drive from me that sell some american products so i go quite regulary but i dont get why adding it to the cake mix would make it moist i have used a few american cake mixes in the past and there ok and not dry anyway
do you add the jello as a dry ix or made up with milk
and how would you add it to a from scratch recipe

I think you might have heard about jello pudding mixes being used. I've never done that myself, but I have used sour cream instead and that helps it stay moist too. The tops of the cakes do tend to get kinda sticky as they cool, but some just trim that off.

Sorry i don't have any real answers to your questions. But you might be able to get the same result by using sour cream and perhaps that's easier for you to get.
