Bad Review For Making A Cake Look Too Much Like The Picture

What kinda sucks is that we were just a few reviews away from being the only cake shop on all of WeddingWire.com to have 100+ reviews and an Average Quality of Service rating of 5 out of 5. I guess that'll have to wait for a while for the awesome reviews to balance it out.
Well that does suck! But given your track record, you'll be back up to perfect 5's again in no time. I hope she sees your response as well, the little brat. 
Evidently the bride didn't get enough attention at her wedding, she has to seek it in a public online forum complaining about the cake. She has nothing to complain about. You gave her a cake that was wonderful in every way, and exactly what she asked for.

Your response on the forum was fine. I think that anyone who reads her complaint then sees the picture is going to think she's nuts.
I learned a great lesson that I can pass onto any other wedding cakers, if there is anything on the papework that may be open to interpretation...talk to her the week before and clarify every detail to make certain she is going to like the cake she receives.
I personally wish that people would voice their displeasure to the company before going public with it first. Your response was very professional and if I were reading your reviews and saw that then your response I wouldn't hesitate one bit ordering from you. Your cake was gorgeous and the general idea was the same as the picture but definitely different in colors and flowers.

agree. I'd at least know it was coming! My 'worst' review on wedding wire was a bride who said we "wouldn't" cut the wedding cake because it was bought from someone else.
No, that is not true whatsoever. I have to know ahead of time she wants us to cut the cake.
On that particular day, I had multiple wedding caterings, so I send my 2nd team to her wedding since it was food only. I didn't send anyone who knew how to cut a wedding cake because it wasn't arranged ahead of time and we didn't KNOW she wanted us to cut the cake!
I did respond with the info that we "are more than happy to assist a bride with her cake cutting ...." and explaining that we need to know ahead of time so we can be sure to schedule a trained and experience cake cutter in the staffing assigned to her event.

You had a very classy response to her review. She ding-ed you an awful lot of stars for what was basically a good review. I think anyone reading it isn't going to hold what she said against you.
And the cake was incredibly gorgeous. You did an absoulutely breathtaking job on it.
I think both cakes are amazingly beautiful. I think by the time the actual wedding comes brides have been so stressed for such an extended period of time that they have lost touch with reality a bit.
Anyone that looks at the picture of the cake will know this bride is a nut-job.
The original is my cake and I think you did a lovely job changing it up.
Some people just like to complain...
