Icing sliding off cake

Thread Starter
I have had my frosting sliding off my cakes Its not hot in the shop Ive crumb coated them then will let set over night the next morning will finish frosting and it slides down in puddles at bottom of cake this does not always happen but the last couple of weeks seems like it has happened a couple of times a week.

Then have had trouble with cakes not staying level I made a monkey sitting up 4 layers carved her body crumb coated her let her sit all
night then frosted and put fondant on her she looked really good let it sit and made her head of rice crispies and fondant I put a level on them to make sure they are level then it looked like the frosting under fondant was sliding off so then it made her look like her spine was curved fondant was sagging to one side of course I can cover up the flaws but i just need to know what to do keep this from happing. My frosting is crisco cream cheese powder sugar flavoring and water meringue powder. I use a cake mix altered i have been using the same recipes for years PLEASE ANY HELP you can offer will be appreciated.

It's the cream cheese. You need to switch to either real buttercream or to criscocream. Cream cheese does not get along with fondant.

I agree. Cream cheese icing doesn't work with fondant.
