Does any one know of any classes in the Sacramento, Ca area?? I've taken all four of the Wilton classes, but I would really like to learn how to make beautiful gumpaste flowers and figures and such. Any ideas?? Please icon_biggrin.gif

Sadly, no. I've been teaching myself thanx to books and YouTube because we just don't have anything available to us except the wilton classes. SIGH. Altho' I did see a sign on the window of Cake Castle on Fair Oaks Blvd that they have classes so maybe???

Cake Castle sometimes offers classes but they can be really expensive. I have also self taught since we do not have much in Sacramento.

Thank you! I've been seaching for classes and thought there HAS to be something near here. . .But apparently I'm wrong. Oh, well, I suppose I'll go back to attempting to teach myself

impala could teach a class. Have you seen her blog? Gorgeous designs. (BTW: link from forum to her blog is has coding error. There is an "@", needs a ".")

I would be interested in taking a class. It doesn't have to be formal; just a get-together and work on techniques. I'm in Roseville. I'm not good with cakes, but I love to make cookies!

SugarBoy thank you so much for the nice compliment. I still have lots to learn. I have just started making cookies with fondant. Do you have any pointers on cookies?

Also I fixed the link to my blog. Thank you for the heads up.

Have you checked Every Baking Moment in Dixon?  That's not to far from you.

Hi!  I'm jumping into the teaching circuit (will be teaching in 2014 in SoCal).  I'm in SF so obviously I don't want to teach anything here, but Sactown would be a possibility.  If any of you have a venue I can look at putting something together (if you are interested).

PM me if so.

I have been struggling with learning new techniques and just having other cake buddies to talk to in person. I think we should start a cake club in Sac. Anyone in??? I have a shop we can meet at or we can take turns at different peoples houses. Taste new recipes, practice flower ideas, decorate cookies whatever.

I am in central CA and retired.....I"d love to teach a class :)

If you can get together 4 to 8 people and have someplace to meet I'd come up there.

E-mail/PM me for details.

OH!  I just noticed this is an OLD post - probably no one still interested :(

AI'm in northern California. An hour north of Sacramento. I would totally be down for a cake club.

Here are a couple of suggestions.  Right now I don't see any cake decorating classes listed for East Bay but they do offer them occasionally.
