Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what will be covered in the new Wilton classes? I never learned how to do gumpaste flowers, and I'm wondering if either the 'Flowers and Cake Design' or 'Gum Paste and Fondant' course will cover this? Thanks!

Melissa

Flowers and Cake Design will have the fondant/gumpaste pansy and the button flower using a press mold. The rest of the flowers are doing in royal icing.

Gumpaste and Fodant will have a gumpaste dasiy, carnation, mum, rose and calla lily.

TexasSugar, are you a Wilton instructor?

I've taken all the previous classes (plus the Gumpaste Flower class that I think only a few stores offered), and i wasn't sure if the new ones (either cake design or fondant and gumpaste) were worth re-taking. I love taking classes and it would give me something to do one night a week this summer, but I didn't know if it would be worth the cost. Would I still need to buy the kits too, or can I just buy the few new pieces I don't have?

Like TexasSugar said Flowers and Cake Design is the class you're looking for. icon_smile.gif

AXOCutie-- my Wilton instructor told us as long as you have the majority of the pieces that come in the kit, that's it's best to simply not buy the kit and pick up the few pieces you need. Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying! So it sounds like both classes would be beneficial for me icon_smile.gif

I did all 3 of the Wilton classes offered, 7 years ago, but a friend just told me that they have changed the format, so I figured it might be good to take one.
