How can I save this? EVERYTHING has gone wrong on the last three cakes I've done. I just want this one to be OVER and I'm taking a LONG break. But I can't redo this shoe! Omg. I've also got part of the form STUCK to the bottom of the other shoe. That's how this one broke - how am I supposed to get that off?

...of course I can't add a photo because I'm on my phone...computer won't even work. So mad right now! Suffice it to say it's a gumpaste shoe in three pieces!!!

Royal icing is your only hope mix a stiff batch up add the shoe color to it piece it together then cut the light pink part again as thin as you can restick that on top of the original piece. Also add a piece of gum paste under the shoe where the cracks are for additional support. Another way to camouflage the breaks once repaired is to paint some Vodka on the sprinkle the shoe with sanding sugar this both hides the cracks as well as adding a certain glam factor

Good luck I hope it works out

I made a small repair once to a small guitar by adding gumpaste to the back (your underside) to repair/firm the piece up. Then after that dried stiff I "smooshed" some of the gumpaste into the crack and smoothed it out with a small tool. It wasn't terribly noticeable after. HTH

Repaired the shoes (both broke!) with royal and there it goes. She just picked it up. This cake annoyed me from the beginning, long story....I just don't really like this lady - I love the birthday girl, though, so I did it all for her. Wonder what she'll think when she gets to her surprise party in a couple hours and sees the cake she told me months ago she wanted and finds out I wasn't invited by her other snooty friends to the party! Ugh....whatever...just a mini-rant. But I'm letting it go...none of them better call me asking for another cake, though, is all. Regardless, these are the pics I took before she came...

Thanks for the advice. Y'all saved me again.
