i have been searching the internet like crazy and cannot seem to find any cake competitions in my area i live in long island n.y if anyone knows a website that might have info on contests and stuff that would be greati am new to this site its great!!! thanks

The only contest I know of is through Wilton. You send them pics of your cake, check out there website for the info. I dont know of anything locally, sorry! Good Luck, I hope you find something!

Why don't you start a contest yourself? Start small, for home bakers only. Or maybe you can talk your church or a service club of some kind to sponsor it.

Gina, there will be an Ices WOS at the end of October on Long Island. I don't know where exactly, but if you go to Ices.org and look up our nys rep. there should be contact info there. She is located somewhere on the island.
