i'm searching for a tasty marble cake recipie. one that will hold up to fondant covering...i've been asked to make a hockey puck out of marble cake. i've tried a few recipies-1 from all recipies (didn't like that one at all!!) and a couple others-but just not satisfied with them. anyone have a tried and true they could share?

I have the most delicious marble cake recipe ever! Super moist and flavorful... Do you have Martha Stewart's Wedding Cakes book?? The recipe for marble cake thats in there is the one I use... All I do is fondant cakes, so no worries there... Send me your e-mail in a message and I can send it to you, with the few alternations that I do. And for a filling, I marble the buttercream too, OR make a brown sugar dulce de leche buttercream that will compliment it perfectly!!

For marble cake I always make my white cake and chocolate cake and then marble them in the pan. I already have a recipe for each that everyone likes so I just drop them in the pan with my portion scoop and then swirl before it goes in the oven.

ditto leily and Indy. I'm a scratch baker and have no problem with using fondant on *any* cake.

I am hoping you are still a cake central member.  I have a wedding cake this saturday and it is for marble cake.  Haven't found one that I think I really would like.

I am doing a small 3 tier, size 6, 8, and 10.  She only wants enough for 60 people.  Any suggestions. Wants it covered in a fondant as well and left plain with just 3 sating ribbons and bows on each layer.  Please help if you can.  Much appreciated.  My name is Mary.

Please--if anybody is looking for recipes, use GOOGLE.  WWW.GOOGLE.COM  in your browser.

Into the search box type "black forest cake recipe" or "marble cake recipe" and you will get too many recipes to name.

If you are looking for a recipe that was specifically posted on cake central, add those words in the search box.

So then you choose a recipe by the number of comments.  No comments?  DO NOT try to use it first.

And it is impossible to promise that YOUR cake will turn out like the recipe you follow--because we have no clue of how much baking experience you have, to follow a recipe with correct technique.

ALol Irene, I see you're the google police on this website If everybody did what you suggested and just used google, there would be no recipes posted on here... And people (or I, at least) prefer to communicate with other cc members than read through comments on other websites (which is why I'm here) What's your problem with people asking for recipes? This IS the recipe section isn't it? Not everyone posts recipes here randomly (without being asked first) and if people are searching for it on google, all theyd find are your replies lol Jeez, why doesn't everyone think like you? Then we'd have NO recipes to search for Does it bother you this much to see a recipe request in the recipe section? Lighten up

AThere's just nothing special about marble. I encourage customers to create their own marble. Its just any two flavors swirled together. There's not a "marble " recipe. Chocolate and white, chocolate and yellow, strawberry and banana, orange and white - swirled together, they're all marble.

AI don't understand the fascination with marble cake. Take 2 different flavors of batter, swirl them together, and like magic you now have a marble cake!
