I purchased cupcake carriers from Costco (in Canada) made by SnapWare - they carry 3 dozen per container. Another option is to "glue" them to a board with some frosting. I do not recommend the wilton carrier because the holes are too large and the cupcakes go tumbling around icon_sad.gif

i was thinking about making my own inserts ... either somehow use my cricut or my circle cutters ... maybe cut out circles from a panel of foam board. i've also been saving my lids to baby food jars because they look like they could hold a cupcake ... even last night, i noticed my single-serving of generic jello snack looked big enough to hold a cupcake ... sry, i've been having all these ideas but haven't tested them!

When I have been needing to transport a lot of cupcakes and do not have a large carrier I simply transport them in my large square 14inch pan or my 12 inch. It does the job and the cupcakes fit snug and do not move around. It does the job when I am in a crunch

great ideas! Thanks much everyone! I had been thinking of how I could make my own inserts...so thanks for that tip. It never crossed my mind to use my cake pan....great tip.

I have to transport 250 cupcakes this Saturday. I'm pretty confident your ideas will help. I do plan to try making my own in the near future.

Thanks everyone! thumbs_up.gif

Just order the inserts, they last forever. I don't make cupcakes all the time so I think I'm going on two years on the same box of inserts, and they fit the 14x19 sheet boxes you get at walmart or the craft store.

Just transported 460 mini cc's and 80 standard cc's today.

Standards were in a full sheet box, and 1/2 sheet box w shelf liner under them (keeps them from sliding around) and the minis were separated into 26 different pie boxes (for an elementary school, 1 box per classroom) and the cc's were secured using strips of double stick scotch tape and then set the minis on the tape, holds them...but not soooooo sticky that it's difficult to pick up when you want to pick them up.

HTH

Have also used HUGE sheets of styrofoam and stuck toothpicks into the foam and then skewer the cupcake bottoms right on the toothpick, leaves a small hole in the bottom of the paper, but who'd notice?

oh and also.........I've used those disposable aluminum foil muffin pans too.........got a big one that holds 36 cc's from GFS for $2......fits nicely into a full sheet cake box and reuseable!
