I love these ribbon things that Cake Chester uses for toppers on her cakes. Does anyone know what these are made from or where I can buy it online?

They almost look like some of the "stuff" that you find in the silk floral areas at Micahel's etc. If it is that I wonder if it is food safe? Cute cake - great idea!

Doesn't have to be food safe. If it's on a wire put a coffee stirrer in the cake and stick the wire inside of that, nothing touching the cake.

Could it just be a wire-in ribbon? You could stick it in a stirr straw before sticking it into the cake if you're not sure if it's food safe.

It almost looks like quilling paper.

It looks like 'onion grass' from the floral dept of Hobby Lobby or Michaels. you can curl it with scissors like ribbon or just with your thumb nail.

That's what I'm thinking. I spend a lot of time there for crafts other than cakes and I've used this before. It does not look like any wired ribbon. I use a lot of different ribbons in Girl Scout crafts, and what is in this photo does not appear to be wired curling ribbon.

That's what I think it is too. Quilling has become more popular with the whole scrapbooking thing, so it's not as hard to find quilling paper as it used to be.
