Ok so this bride gave me this picture of a cake that she wants. The cake itself is simple enough, however I am not exactly sure how to get the look on the sides of the cake that she is wanting. I have a few ideas, but since this is a new technique for me I thought I might ask you all and see if anyone has done something like this before and if so what is the best way to get it to look right.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
For me is new too , like you have different ideas but i'm not sure how is made . I hope somebody knows
It's kind of hard to tell because the picture is a little out of focus, but it looks like it's just royal icing piped on top of fondant. At first I thought it was a mold of some kind, but that would be a huge and unnecessary mold.
It looks like piping to me too!!! Sort of like a grapevine going round & round the cake.
Gorgeous cake. Good Luck!!
Of all the ideas I had for this Royal icing piped on fondant was not one of them. Thanks guys. I am going to make the bride a sample cake next week because she is not sure this is what she wants, so I told her I would make her a small layer so she can see what it will look like in real life rather than just a photo.
When I get the finished cake done I will post the photo.
Thanks again.
