I was wandering around Home Goods today and I found an adorable cake plate, but that's not the point. I found Fat Daddio pans for cheap. You may be able to find them cheaper online, but at Home Goods there's no shipping! Anyway, the 9" was $5.99, 10" was $6.99 and 12" was $7.99. I wish I had the money to buy them all, but I did manage to get 2 9" pans into my cart.

If you have a Home Goods in your area, you may want to check it out!

I love Home Goods for cake plates. Seems like they always have something really pretty for a very reasonable price.

I was looking at Fat Daddios pans on Amazon recently and 17 out of 18 people gave them a 5 star rating. The one person who didn't, gave them a 1 because they're apparently made in China and I took it that the person was really more interested in items made in America.

Just some food for thought...

thats fine, but atleast give some type of reason to stay away and not just post leave them there, if the sux .well why?
i dont like the wilton pans and the reason is the shape and size of them are not correct with what they claim, how ever at the time being they are what i have and i'm looking to purchase a much better set of pans very soon...

I have a few Fat Daddy pans and I like them. They are square, with crisp corners and a nice weight. I would not hesitate to buy more. I guess we all have our unique taste in pans. icon_smile.gif

I have 45+ years experience as a baker/decorator, and am a huge fan of the Fat Daddio's line. They bake beautifully; very evenly and clean up easily. Have never experienced anything negative with their use. Enjoy your new pans!

I notice now that the 'bottom" corners are sounded...is this a problem when trying to frost or fondant straight corners and sides???

I use Fat Daddios pans and still get good results. The key is proper icing and proper smoothing.

I also LOVE (love, love, love) my Magic Line pans and prefer them to any others when I'm baking square cakes, but I find Fat Daddios are just fine for rounds.

We order all of our pans from CK products and love them. However, I was in desperate need for a few extra pans the other day and went to a Kitchen store in town and saw the Fat Daddio pans, they looked decent so I bought two really big ones and spent 23.00 dollars a peice on them. I prepped them like I do any of my pans and they also had this thing on the bottom that pops in and out to help release the cake when done baking. Anyways, that part leaked and I had cake dripping into the bottom of my oven. The cakes stuck, which NEVER happens. It was awful. I will never buy those again. I actually called the place today and they told me I could return them and get a refund, even though I already used them. Hope this helps.

FD pans cook faster (the anodized aluminum), so the edges tend to brown and cook more than the center. If you don't use bake even strips, the outside edge will be too hard.

I have both FD and ML because I wanted to compare them and ML doesn't have an 11" square. I stick with ML as often as I can.

I have several of the FD rounds....(I have never seen the ones that have bottoms that come out). I don't have any trouble with them at all....they bake up just fine, and release perfectly for me. My squares are all ML though!

I have one FD round & have had no problems with it compared to the ML round. I use bake even strips & a flower nail on all my pans. I actually just ordered an 11 inch round FD pan b/c I couldn't find an in stock ML online.

I've not had any problems with my Fat Daddio's pans. They work just fine for me, and I prefer the design of the square ones.
