I haven't made angel food cake in years, but I've got a major craving for it. Do you think it would work in cupcake form though? I'm not sure, because I remember you have to cool it upside down so the cake stays light and fluffy. Also, I've only ever eatedn it with whipped cream, so what kind of frosting would go with them? It would have to be something really light.

Hello Roxybc i'm not sure if you've tried baking these yet. I have a cupcake book that has a recipe for these so i guess it can be done.

I Googled it and got 531,000 image results, so they should be fine,
If I do an icing, it's just a thin powdered sugar glaze.

Funny thing... I just read about angel food cupcakes where they used a box mix, added some dry jello mix to it and chopped up fruit to match the jello. Then for the icing they used cool whip lite and added more of the dry jello mix to it ...very low fat... and per them very yummy...
