What is Wilton's black? Can the Hershey's chocolate icing recipe be used for the outline without it running?
I'm guessing that is a the tube of black premade icing.
I use my regular buttercream (all crisco) colored black for my FBCT outlines.
I have used store brand fudge icing and it works for me. I have occasionally had some of the icing outline stick to the wax paper but not too much. When that happens, I just fill in the lines after the transfer is on the cake.
Wilton has black icing in tubes, that might be what you were told about. I use store brand, not major brands, chocolate fudge icing & add black jel color to get a nice black. Its way easier than adding black to white icing as you don't need to use so much coloring.
Check the link for the icing tube. Your local Michaels should carry it.

i use the wilton black in the tubes cuz i am too lazy to dye it, it never bleeds, and it is the perfect consistency for the outline..
So, should the whole transfer be pipped in Wilton premade icing in the tube? I am doing this next week and need to know what kind to use. I was going to use Wilton Black icing in the tube and then use Medium or thin? homemade buttercream for the rest of the FBCT......any help would be great! I have never done one before.....Thanks! I just want to be sure that it doesn't crack or bleed.....
