Hi Debbie-
Yes, I am one of your customers. In fact, I had ordered in early March. You might remember that we having issues with the cold weather making the sheets brittle.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I still have rough moments, but each day is easier. I'm a pretty positive person and it sure is helping now. I am seeing this as an opportunity to create the shop that I've wanted and also an opportunity to streamline. I know in my heart that God has not abandoned me and that greater things lie ahead.

I am going to have to replace my edible image system (we were unable to save anything). If you can send me some info in a private message I would be appreciative.
Thanks,
Teresa

I am so happy to announce that I signed the lease for my new business location!! For the first time in weeks I actually feel good. The insurance process continues. It is long and involved with a total loss, but hopefully we are nearing the end. There is an unbelievable amount of work ahead, but at least the process has begun. My spirit has been renewed by the kind, thoughtful gestures of so many of you. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support.

super exciting! You know, not many people have the opportunity to exercise their thoughts of "If I had this to do over again, here's what I'd do different...." Of course going thru a tornado is an extreme way to get there! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif But go forward with new opportunities to achieve!! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks ladies!! My husband that as I signed the lease today he saw the first geniune smile that he'd seen on my face in weeks. There is so much to do, but I'm really looking forward to the work. Sitting around for almost a month has been unbearable. Too much time to think; too much time to feel sorry for myself. So I know I'll be exhausted, but I can't wait to get started.

Just wanted to post an update. First, thanks to all of you who continue to pray, think the good thoughts, and send notes, cards and gifts and supplies!! You are the BEST!! Progress is being made, and I actually see it. We really have done a lot in a short time. It's exhausting though, trying to do a lot with a little, but it really is coming together.

However, there is always something. I heard from the building owner for the first time this past week. Seven weeks after my loss!! And only because he can't demolish the building until I sign off on the destruction of the property remaining in the building...which was almost everything. Then the ultimate slap in the face!! We find out the someone had the audacity to have an auction and sold MY property out of the condemned and falling down building!! Can you believe it?? The owner knew nothing about it until one of his workers told him that he arrived Thursday just as it was ending!! He was livid. I was livid!! My husband was livid!! Who DOES stuff like that?? I will be sooooo glad when this is over. They even stole the mailbox. The mailbox survived the tornado, but not thieves. I swear. What a week!!

" Wow, so much tragedy going on I didn't expect to read anything about people's business going up in smoke, being destroyed by natural elements and so on. Its very depressing. Reading your comments & your post 'bout what's going on after loosing your cake shop and how you're opening a new one brings it all to another level of hope for the future, fighting for what was taken away from you. You are an inspiration. Wishing you all the best for the now, near & long future. Take care"

You know, if it wasn't so shocking it would be funny. So what, this person trolled for damaged property in the city and then just posted signs/adverts to auction it all off? See, this is when you wish for sci-fi stuff like the ground opening up and swallowing someone whole (well, maybe just leave the head so you can see who they are in the morning and tell them off!) Ugh, I need some sugar!

I'm glad to hear you're making progress in some small way.

I just now saw this and in a matter of minutes have seen your ups and your downs. You truly are a positive person and I am so glad to see that you have a new storefront and most importantly that you and your loved ones are safe. I have only seen one tornado and I have never been so terrified in my life. I will say that reading of your items being auctioned off made me feel literally ill. I am so, so very sorry to read that. I was at an auction (a legitimate one) many years ago and a lady next to me was bragging about how she had an entire set of this one certain type of china as it was just 'sitting in an abandoned house', so she walked in and took it. All I could think of was that the owner may have been lying ill in the hospital and her treasures and memories were just taken. I had the same feeling when I heard her say what she did as when I read what happened to you. I hope that the new storefront eases the feelings brought about by this happening. In seeing how you have handled everything else, I have a feeling it will. Best wishes to you with your new shop!!!

Are you still going to be in High Point? I found out about your business (on this site) after the tornado and went to look for your business, a devasting loss... You were right around the corner from me and I was driving to Winston-Salem for supplies. icon_cry.gif

I look forward to you reopening...hopefully still in High Point!!!

I live in Northern Alberta, Canada and in 1987 had a F5 tornado going through our city. I know how devasting this can be, I also notice how these events can bring out the best in people. And then there are the one or two scumbags that are a waste of human skin!! Don't concentrate on the negative, anger just costs you valuable energy you're going to need to rebuild your business. There are so many people on this site that have sent good wishes and tangible help, THAT is what is important. All my best to you and hope you rebuild "bigger & better". My thoughts are with you.

Ireyna, we are working frantically to get the new location up and running...hopefully before the end of June. The new address is 230 North Spring Street in Greensboro. I will be downtown near the corner of Bellemeade and Spring, one block from the ball park. We are also planning a grand opening celebration, right now scheduled for July 10. I'll post more info on that later.

Even with all the insanity I try to hold on to the positives that have occurred. We're making progress. As of today, there is one whole room that is 100% complete!! I was estatic when I left! I gave this whole situation to God weeks ago. I'll let him take care of the thieves, the negligent, etc. I've got cakes to bake!!!

Wow! Where have I been? I just read about the tornado that destroyed your business. I am inspired by your positive attitude and your determination to pick yourself up and go forward. There have been times when I would feel sorry for myself and then I would see or read of others that had it alot worse then me. I knew that God was reminding me that I should be grateful for the things that mean the most to me, my family, my health, my friends..... I know you are going to come out on top! Take care.

I am so very happy to see your business coming back together!

I can sympathize with you and your experience with those low-life thieves. When we had our flood back in September here in the Atlanta area, we had our share of those jerks rummaging through our home and property. Those bastards would try to sift through my front yard as we were trying to salvage what was left of our home and belongings! Because our home was unlivable, we'd work all day and have to leave at sun down (no power/electricity) to go sleep somewhere else...those scum buckets would come back at night to steal our AC units and windows! If it wasn't tied down, it wouldn't be there the next morning! It's very sad that people feel the need to kick you when you are truly at your lowest.

I hope everything continues to pull together for you. Good luck!

I am so happy to announce that on Saturday, July 10 Crawford's Creations will reopen for business!! We are having a grand reopening celebration from 10AM-2PM. There'll food, door prizes and the NC Chapter of ICES will conduct a membership drive!! All purchases (dessert orders, class fees, and retail store) made that day will receive a 10% discount.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed and sent good karma our way. It has been a gruelling three months-emotionally and physically (four of us did all the physical work), but we're almost done. I hope
all of you who can, will drop by. I send a big hug to all of you and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers. I can't WAIT to start decorating again!!
