What does bark taste like? I'm thinking something comical/literal- other than just making a bunch of flowers?

Bees, butterflies, ladybugs, ants, reeds, a small pond with tiny fish in it, a duck or two swimming around. (Maybe a hunter in the bush.) Hve fun.

What about carpenter ants having a "picnic"?

or

Bears eating from a beehive?

or

An anteater? Hummingbird?

or

What about fruit trees? maybe with monkeys sitting under them eating the fruit.

How is the most impressive way to make a pond?

You can make the water with lightly colored piping gel. There are a couple of recipes here on CC. Piping gel is very easy to work with and gives good results. Have lots of fun playing with the pond.

Lapaxlady - thank you! What if you wanted to carve a section of the cake out to create a pond? Could you use jello maybe?

I used Jello once. Just make sure that it's BC that is sealing the surface, because the Jello will eat through fondant. It makes a really runny, gooey mess. Or you could line the pond with tin foil (crumpled first for texture), and then pour in candy.

I am not really experience enough to cover in fondant - I am a BC girl. However I do use fondant for accents. The tin foil is a great idea - and I am thinking of putting fish in the jello - is there any candy fish out there?
