Okay so I have been looking online all afternoon and I can't find any recipes for Honey Lavender Cake that I like. Two reasons: One: they don't read like a standard cake recipe (seem to be missing a lot of dry ingredients) and Two: they don't have any ratings. It makes me nervous to cook something that doesn't have a lot of ratings because I am not a baker-extraordinaire and I want it to get done right the first time so I need to see that lots of other people can do it. (I know I'm sad)

That being said, do you think I can just use the WASC recipe and substitute in some areas? My questions are, where do I substitute in honey (should i replace the sugar or some of the sour cream, or some of both?) and I don't want actual lavender bits in my cake so can I just steep the lavender in the water to get the flavor in? Also, do you think the sour cream and almond and vanilla extract will overtake the lavender?

I am trying to just make simple cupcakes with a lemon whip topping. Any help you can give would be much appreciated!!
