I have a big 70th birthday cake in October. They want fall colored leaves and acorns as the decorations. I have found where to order the edible leaves and the piping gel to spread on them.

My question is : has anybody used this technique before? and If you have how long do you think they will keep. In other words how long in advance can I make them. Do you think they will keep for a month or so?

The technique is on www.sugarcraft.com look for edible leaves. If nobody has done this yet. Could somebody read the instructions on this site and help me decide if I can get started making these in the next week or two or do I have to wait til the last minute?

I haven't made them, but I would think you could do them up ahead of time because I have done something similar with paints and brown paper and as long as you let them dry and keep them in a dry place and make sure they stay flat so the edges don't curl, I cannot see why you couldn't make them starting now.

I'll bet you could e-mail someone at sugarcraft with your question. I'm sure they would know how long the leaves will keep.

Good luck!
