Check this link, looks like it varies from county to county in Georgia.

I'm in Alabama and it's a no-go here.

We're going to have to fix this Alabama problem. I'm hoping if I make enough cakes for my law school, I can rally them for support. A lot of them have connections to our lovely reps in Montgomery...

I know. Alabama is ridiculously easy on everything else. They'll sell guns to God knows who at Wal Mart but home bakeries are a no, ha! Where are you in the state?

Check this out

It's only good for selling at Govt. sponsored Farmers Markets or non profit events, but it's a start

I am in Richmond County and a home kitchen is possible if you have a second kitchen. I am working on mine right now...can't wait to get it done. Hope this helps...good luck.

No joke. I saw them sell a gun and ammo to a visibly drunk individual once...

I'm from Madison (Huntsville area)... but I've been in Tuscaloosa for quite a few years now for school. What about you?

I am in Tuscaloosa too! And I definitely know Madison because I'm originally from the Decatur area. icon_smile.gif I am in the process of trying to open a cupcake shop/cupcake truck business here in town. The space I'm considering putting my kitchen in is in Northport. The health department here doesn't allow sharing of kitchens like a lot of places you hear about here!

Ummmm AMAZING. Cupcakes got me started on the whole baking thing... I was an RA in the dorms and used to have cupcake decorating parties. How long have you been at this? I just started seriously learning about / practicing cakes about 6 months ago. I wish I could drop out of law school and do it full time, but my parents insist I finish my degree and then I can do whatever I want icon_smile.gif In the meantime... if your business grows and you need some help, well hand me an application! Haha.

I first heard about cupcake trucks when reading an article about a guy who started one in NYC after he graduated law school and couldn't get a job. I envied him. Although I'm not exactly sure what they entail (i.e. do you do all the baking in the truck?) I'm excited... I'll definitely be stopping by- frequently icon_smile.gif

I'm in the Gulf Coast region of Alabama and would love to see the laws changed for home bakers. Count me in on whatever. From writing letters to getting a petition signed.

It's the antiquated 1901 Constitution.......
