Hi there I see all the postings and the "how to" on cake balls...I was wondering if anyone has ever made them out of brownies? I saw them done on a website, and I have a bride that is interested in me making them.....Since I haven't even made cake balls...only cakes, would love any suggestions, tips, etc...thanks so much!!!
You can use pretty much any cake or cake like product you'd like.

I've never made cake balls, I only use brownies. I found the best way was to put the cooled brownies in the food processor and pulverize to crumbs. There can be some lumps, that's fine. As -Sweetheart- said, you won't need a binder; just squish them into shape. I've also made the Santa hats & Christmas trees from Bakerella's website using brownies.
I did these for a bridal shower.

thanks everyone...was most wondering about the binder....I am going to try and do a batch this weekend, and see....Barbarana....those are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! LOve the boxes too...I am sure way time consuming, but SOOOO lovely!! Thanks to all for the help!!!
I do mostly all brownie balls, with a few oreo balls thrown in. I don't like the texture of the cake balls with the binder so the brownies work out perfect.
Sooo Yummy!
Do you use a binder for the oreo balls or is the cream inside of them enough? Mmmmm...sounds good!

OMG those look amazing!!! So beautiful! I've never made brownie balls but I have made a TON of the cake balls, and every one loves them. I'd like to try out the brownie balls. Oh these would be perfect fo V-Day.
Barbaranne how did you coat them so perfectly? Mine always come out somewhat messy.
Thanks,
Kathi
For the oreo balls I add some cream cheese, but only a little. I just add a Tbsp. or two at a time until the mixture just starts to stick together( I make the mixture in my food processor). However, the brownies are still my fave because if it's a fudgy brownie you don't anything to bind it together.
