I don't have one yet but am growing more interested. I went into my cake store yesterday and the owner had one. She said to hold off buying one because Cricut will be coming out with a machine specifically for cake decorators. I guess they got the message.

I have this one. I use it for scrapbooking. It is small and can sit on the table beside you while you are scrapbooking. $99 is a good price and the cartridges at $30 is a steal if you don't get them off the internet. I love mine, but I only use it for scrapbooking.

The Cricut Expression can start @ $300 sometimes with or without cartridges.

I have the Cricut Create and think it's great. I didn't want the Expression because I wanted something that didn't take up a lot of space.

Wouldn't it be nice if Cricut came up with a cartridge that would cut mini, regular, large and jumbo cupcake wrappers in lots of styles.

what exactly is a cricut? I see people use them all the time, how does it help with cakes?

Be careful of the machine you purchase. The Expressions is more sophistocated and can be hooked up to a computer. The personal is the first one made which is more limited. Also, you might pay more for individual accessories than those in a bundle with your machine.

I have friends who love it and so do their children. But remember, if you use your machine for scrapping you should not use it for food, as it is not food safe. Scarpping leaves some residue.

You can hook up the Create to your computer. That's the only way I use it.

I use Make The Cut software. It's similar to SCAL but I thought it was more user friendly. Google it to visit their website for full info. Once you have that software all you need is a USB cable to connect the Cricut to your PC.

so are you saying if you bought this cricut, and that software, Make The Cut software, you can print out stuff like happy birthday and whatever else from your computer into the cricut machine, and it would print out onto gumpaste or fondant?
