I have been asked to do a Sweet 16 tiered cake with an Irish theme. The customer does not want it to look "St. Patty's-ish"??? Her colors are orange, white and green. I was thinking of doing each tier a pattern, (stripes, polka dots, etc.) Adding some shamrocks on wire coming off of the cake, then big 16 number topper......anyone have any ideas, or have done something that you could share your idea....the thing that is stumping me is that it shouldn't look like St. patrick's day....HUN?

I am thinking of Irish symbols, like a claddagh or triquetra.

I think there is a Celtic section in the photo galleries - that might get you started!

Yeah, a Celtic theme or incorporating a Celtic design would be really cool. Maybe thistles too, or would that be too Scottish? Cool idea though, love the color combo! Please post pics!
