HELP! I've been asked to make, for a dinner theater, chocolate cockroaches. I even had to look up what they looked like. Like a large fly or sort of beetle looking bug. Need over 100 of them so looking for multi cavity if possible. Anyone have a mold that they think would work, could you please share where you got it or the number stamped on the mold?????

I not sure there is a mold for cockroaches. You could make the mold though and provide cockroaches that would be amazingly realistic - which I'll bet your customer would appreciate.

Dominic, do you think it is possible to make a dozen on one mold so I wouldn't have to do 100 all separate???? I just finished looking at your site I believe and I think I tried a sample of your product years ago from convention. Silicone Plastique. How much product do you think it would take to do say a sheet of these bugs???? I would appreciate any suggestions. The only part I wonder about are the legs. Perhaps make them with no legs, most people may not miss them. I would think they would just break off??? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

nesweetcake - Yes, you can make a multi cavity mold of all twelve roaches. I would recommend the use of CopyFlex Liquid. I do have a concern though. Last night I searched for "Fake Plastic Roaches." and upon review, the roaches on Ebay are made of rubber.

The problem is certain types of vinyl and rubber inhibit the cure of food grade silicone. I wouldn't want you to make the purchase only to find that the CopyFlex won't cure. Do you think you could find plastic roaches? Perhaps from novelty sites or stores that specialize in Halloween supplies?

Dominic, I did find one yesterday at the dollar store. No where on the package does it say the material it is made of. It is rather thin.....aprox 1/8" an is flexible so I would assume it is made of rubber. What are your thoughts on the legs and antenna????

nesweetcake - If you have any of my products or know someone who does close to you, you can put a little on your sample and allow it to cure. If, when you pull off the silicone, it is not slimy where it was in contact with the roach - you are okay.

As far as legs and antenna - they are almost impossible to mold. You would not find them on a plastic mold and if you did they would be enlarged and not very realistic looking. I suggest if you want legs and antenna to pipe them on parchment and add once chocolate roach is out of the mold.
